My pillow and blanket from home.

Anything Italian, ice cream, meatloaf, and anything sweet. I am a sweet-a-holic.
Where is your current assignment and what are some of your favorite places you’ve been to during this assignment? If you are currently taking a break from traveling, what city was your favorite assignment was in, along with top sites to see?
Madison, WI. I have enjoyed this assignment so much I have yet to leave.
What do you love most about working with TotalMed and/or your recruiter?
TotalMed and my recruiter, Meghan, have been absolutely fantastic! They understand my needs and wants and try to deliver those the best they can. My recruiter is extremely attentive, responsive, understanding, patient, and caring. Which helps calm my nerves. My recruiter always ends the week with a follow up text and answers my pressing concern’s at all hours of the day. My recruiter sets me up with hospitals that seem to be the best fit and offers recommendations and guidance when needed. This company puts my needs first and tries to put out fires that may arise to the best of their ability!
Why did you decide to go into travel healthcare?
Travel nursing offers me the ability to go to new locations every 13 weeks which helps my constant need for change. I often times get bored easily and am always yearning for new scenery. I love that I can focus solely on my patients and not wrapped up with the drama or the politics that involved the department. I feel more present in my job and since starting travel nursing I feel the patient care I provide has improved. The staff and management often times tell me how great it is to have me as I am a help to their ever ending staffing issues, which makes you feel more appreciated. Plus the pay is a bonus.
What is your top tip for fellow travelers?
Go into it without expectations and focus on proving the best patient care wherever the wind takes you! Trust the process, you will learn to love it!
